Gallery Frank has invited six established contemporary artists to come together to create a new show because of their mutually ambitious use of material and space. Site-specific, sensorial, industrial and crude; in unique ways, each artist masters the ability to fill space with striking marks, humorous gestures and poetic outcomes. All artists’ practice is heavily conceptual but visually visceral, constructed by means of play and intervention with material that makes the works instinctively relatable and contemplative for the audience.

The idea is to fill the industrial backdrop of the gallery’s space with sculpture, painting and installation to create a conversation between the work, the artist and the space.

Gallery Frank is a recently established gallery in the NorthWest that was awarded Arts Council funding in May 2018 to begin a year long programme of events. Its aim is to provide artists with a space to exhibit their work no matter how ambitious or experimental and become a platform for artists in which to network and discuss practices with other practitioners. It also aims to increase the creative footprint of its locality, being one of the only contemporary art galleries of its kind in this part of the North West. It is an accessible space for members of the public to become exposed to works from artists from across the national and international spectrum.

The aim of the exhibition is simple; to provide all 6 artist with a reason to connect together, to produce a new exhibition of works, to introduce established artists from outside of Ebor studio to the space offering a quality and current exhibition to its audience, to create New Dialogue for artists, space and audience.
