The Changing Room is hosting a networking and professional development day on 30 August from 11am to 5pm for artists based in the Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire areas. The day will be an opportunity for individuals to meet, share ideas, discuss projects and take part in a professional development workshop. This is the first of three events in the next year in partnership with Clackmannanshire Council and Falkirk Council linked to the Visual Artists Awards: Forth Valley.A programme of speakers introduces projects including: Janie Nicol and Alex Hetherington's residency at Callander Park, Falkirk; Belinda Gilbert Scott and Sarah Kensington's self-initiated residency and events programme on a dairy farm outside Balfron. There will also be a presentation from Francis McKee, (Director of CCA, Glasgow and previous Director of Glasgow International) and Wendy Law from Cultural Enterprise Office will cover advice and guidance on making applications and proposals. There will also be: a show reel of work by attending artists, free information goodie-packs, free lunch with tea and coffee on arrival, art magazine stall, tours of the Tolbooth recording studio and a 'live' zine documenting the day.
