Paintings and Drawings by Pamela Avril and Christy Symington. PAMELA AVRIL’s interest in contemplative traditions has informed her painting . She has sought to integrate the tradition of Western painting with the rich significance of Eastern culture and philosophy, reinventing archetypes within a personal context. www.pamelaavril.com CHRISTY SYMINGTON was born in the Year of the Tiger and She is concerned for the survival of tigers in the wild. With only 3200 left wild tigers are on the brink of extinction. Her work confronts issues of loss of habitat, poaching and demand for traditional Chinese medicines which are ongoing threats as well as the beauty strength and majesty of the tiger. In the natural world the tiger’s only predator is man. Man is solely responsible for the slaughter of the tiger for commercial gain. www.christysymington.com
