Elena Thomas’ previous practice has used textiles, particularly garments and stitch, to explore the relationships between children and adults, and between women. These new abstract drawings dig deeper into those relationships, using the interaction of materials as analogy and metaphor. Stolen text is used lightly, hinting at the trains of the artist’s thoughts.
The private view evening includes a live music set from The Sitting Room, Thomas’s band. Her lyrics echo the themes explored in the visual works.
