Continental Drift is a collaboration between visual artist Michele Marcoux and poet Sheila Black that explores the “inner weather” of what is broken, lost, buried, and retrieved. The exhibition traces a landscape of float and drift, rupture and converge, considering what the “I” and the “eye” can hold or recover, particularly of the truth of women’s lives. Building on this, the paintings, projections, found objects, sculptures and poem(s) look both at origin, disintegration, and echo in a landscape that covers beach vacations, the nuclear family and terrorism (domestic and global). And always with the notion of what it is to watch and witness. There will be a Private View on the 19th of March from 7-9pm. On the 21st of March we are delighted to announce that there will be a performance/reading of the poem Continental Drift with Sheila Black and members of the Actors’ Kitchen, LaVerne Hawthorne and Debbie Cannon – 7-9pm (£5 with glass of wine, booking essential.
