‘Create a diversion’ sets out to explore the way artists respond to ideas in a different medium. The musical collective GROK asked artists to submit visual works to them as the starting points for improvised pieces. These songs were then given to other visual artists to produce a response to.The exhibition presents the original artworks along with listening posts for the music and the artworks created in response. Can a common idea be tracked through each phase of these diversions? Or will its path be simply diverting? The album ‘Create a diversion’ by GROK is released on Dedear Records on 8th October 2011. GROK will be performing at the exhibition at 3.00pm and 9.00pm on Saturday and at 2.00pm on Sunday.
