The last of the DAD Photography Commissions 07/08 series can now be seen in Dover town centre. The image is by Ebru Özseçen, a Turkish artist based in Munich who works internationally on a wide range of projects including sculpture, public realm interventions, video and photography. Özseçen first encountered a young woman sucking a gobstopper when working in Dover in 2008. Intrigued by this object, she researched the gobstopper’s origins and production, finally choosing this oversized sweet (also known as jawbreaker) as her image for the Dover signboards.
