DAILY/WEEKLY is a collaborative exhibition between Fine Art and Photography students from The Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, Australia and students from MA Fine Art (Visual Arts), Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts, London. Following the successful exhibition held at the PROJECT GALLERY, Queensland College of Art, in February 2012, the exchange will be complete with work from the Australian students. Michel de Certeau’s incisive text The Practice of Everyday Life investigates the “ways of operating” and the procedures of everyday creativity. Rather than analysing the apparatus of power, de Certeau seeks to bring to light the clandestine activities proliferating within technocratic societies. He examines the strategies and tactics, the creativity which individuals or groups of individuals bring to bear against the disciplines of the existing order. He asks: ‘Is there a logic to these practices?’ Like de Certeau, the artists in this exhibition investigate the processes of everyday creativity, but on their own terms.
