Deptford A.W.O.L. is an exhibition of new drawing, painting, photography and installation by 12 international artists based at Creekside Artists in Deptford, South East London. The pieces on show reflect the diverse range of experiences and approaches of the artists in the group. The common thread linking these artists together is the location in which they work. Creekside Artists open their studios to the public several times a year, but Deptford A.W.O.L. is the first time the group has collaborated to present an exhibition outside the studios. Deptford A.W.O.L. opens on 8th June 2009 at the Menier Gallery, a dramatic exhibition space in the historic Menier Chocolate Factory building. The gallery is just minutes from London Bridge, Borough Market and Tate Modern. Artists participating are: Brenda Brown, Paul Coombs, Linda Duffy, Chris Fraser, Claire Horton, Bruno Mazzotta, Sofie Pinkett, David Ravenwood, Mat Rochford, Necole Schmitz, Caroline Underwood and Richard Waites.
