Durham Regatta 2016

Alongside the River Wear during Durham’s Regatta 2016 you will find work by Carolyn and Caroline Corfield within the Marquee as part of an Interface Arts’ showcase and selling event. Known as the ‘Henley of the North’ this will be Durham’s 183rd regatta, which was first formed in 1834, several years before its namesake. Sculptural ceramics by Carolyn include water nymph wall pieces, glazed to represent this element, in tandem with tactile polished porcelain ‘Hand Treasures’ each resting on a base glazed to portray a watery surface. Also displayed are exquisitely evocative textile landscapes by Caroline, much sought after pieces usually made for commission. Do come along to view and enjoy this truly atmospheric riverside event.
