For our event this February we want to provide an opportunity for artists to learn from each other, sharing experiences of building and managing their websites. Many of us struggle to find a format which suits our requirements and our technical abilities, others may have hit on the perfect solution; some are just plucking up the courage to dive in to the confusing world of website builders, online shops and virtual galleries. We hope that lots of you will come along and share your experiences, good and bad or just come and pick up tips on how (and how not) to do it!

As we all know technology is changing all the time and with a raft of website templates available such as Wix, Portfoliobox and the dreaded WordPress, and alternative platforms such as Etsy, Pinterest and Instagram, the choices of how to maintain an online presence are greater than ever before. If you’ve already got a website or a page on a platform such as Artfinder, RiseArt or Saatchi Online, please do come along, show us your site, share your experiences and get some feedback if you want it. If you haven’t yet taken the plunge to set up a site and would like the opportunity to learn from others and weigh up your options, then do come along and pick our brains.

To help us plan for the event it would be really helpful if you could just answer four very quick questions about your current website use at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/JCV6NB8.

Please bring a laptop if you have one. We’ll spend the evening in small groups, exploring and discussing each other’s websites and other online platforms. We hope that this will be a great opportunity not only to learn from each other but also to get to know each other’s work better, and gain a better understanding of the options available to us. Come along prepared to learn and share your knowledge.
