Influenced by the phenomenology of sound and sight, the morphology of analogue and digital processes, and the open work, Shaw creates perceptive works charged with his own experience of sound and colour.

These sensorial, integrative works catch the essence of synaesthetic crossovers as the artist himself becomes part of the repetition, as a conduit for both choice and endurance.

This experience of becoming part of the process imbues the mind with freedom where the repetition and sequencing of visual stimulus becomes the sole focus. Works produced in this way are often visually sensitised and reveal patterns of amplification and repetition.

With a keen interest in the ‘open work’, some of Shaw’s work doesn’t truly exist until the audience is aware and become part of it; they complete the work. These works often combine the visual, aural, or haptic senses to make the ‘complete work’ in the mind of the viewer.

Shaw lives and works in Northamptonshire and has a studio at the Rooftop Arts Centre in Corby.
