BOM is delighted to present the first solo exhibition by Birmingham-based artist Antonio Roberts.
Roberts has earned international acclaim through exhibitions and performances across the globe including Tate Britain, the Computer Art Congress in Brazil and the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art in Chicago.
Exploring ideas of ownership, copyright and free culture, Roberts’ artworks provoke interesting discussions around intellectual property in today’s digital world, as online communities become more prolific and harder to police.
Permission Taken features specially commissioned new artworks developed through a residency with the University of Birmingham’s Research and Cultural Collections, drawing inspiration from their collection.
Permission Taken is supported through public funding by Arts Council and with funding from University of Birmingham.
