This exhibition celebrates the artistic links between Liverpool and Ireland through 2 unique exhibitions held simultaneously at the Bluecoat Display Centre in Liverpool and the National Craft Gallery in Kilkenny which pairs Irish artists with those working in our North West region. The Irish work has been selected from the Crafts Council of Ireland’s ‘Portfolio’ directory which showcases Ireland’s leading designer makers. The curators; Maureen Bampton (Bluecoat) and Brian Kennedy (Ireland), have selected the artist pairings to complement one another with relationships being drawn from the colouration, surface treatments and presence of the artists’ works which include contemporary glass, sculptural ceramics, wood, basketry, jewellery & metalwork.
