A six day foundation course in cutting fine letters in stone and practising essential drawing and layout skills. Stone and all tools will be provided.

Robbie Schneider studied sculpture at Camberwell and Byam Shaw Art Schools in London and later specialized in lettering. He is a full member of Letter Exchange and of the Scottish Lettercutters Association and an elected member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors. Robbie exhibits widely and does many public and private commissions. His work can be found throughout Britain, from Kent in the South to Shetland in the far North. Robbie works primarily in stone but he also works in wood, metals and other materials.

Each day will run from 9.30am to 5pm. All tools are provided as well as a piece of stone to work on during the workshop. Lunch is included in the price of £495. Participants may purchase their piece of stone at the end of the course – please consult the website for this cost. Please contact the Cromarty Arts Trust to book a place or for more information about accommodation at the Old Brewery, if required.
