The work in this exhibition explores dark desires, fears & ‘the forbidden’. The selection of work was a difficult process as many of the submitted pieces were about important issues but we felt that it was important not to shock visitors but to provoke consideration of issues we may otherwise choose not to think about. It’s a subtle difference perhaps. Some of the issues explored are shocking, whilst others may be more on the periphery of what visitors would consider as taboo.

Selected works include Victoria Carter’s textile series ‘Ukeketaji’ confronting the issue of female genital mutilation, Susan Elaine Jones’ photographs of human skeletal remains alongside leather ‘human puppy’ masks by Cardiff-based Taz Willeman.

Parental guidance is advised & visitors should be aware that they may find some works offensive or disturbing therefore visitor discretion is also advised.

Thu/Fri/Sat 11am – 4pm or by appointment at other times
