Featuring 24 contemporary cutting edge artists the ArtTop10.com “Lockdown Interviews” Exhibition will take place at the Cello Factory in London in April.

All the artists in the exhibition were interviewed via Zoom during these unprecedented times for the ArtTop10 YouTube Channel and website.

ArtTop10 Founder Robert Dunt, who conducted the interviews, said: “All the interviews have an openness and looseness that these strange times gave them. The artists interviewed were incredibly open about their practice and their art and would show you around all the nooks and crannies of their studios right down to their half used tubes of
paint. There was something magical about these interviews.”

“There was no plan from the start about who to interview, it just kind of organically happened, often with people I’d interviewed suggesting who I should interview next. That’s why I thought it would be great to have an exhibition of the artists interviewed as the exhibition fell together in this relaxed natural fashion and is not over thought or over curated.”

“All the artists in the show are at the cutting edge of what is taking place in painting today. If you want to see why painting is exciting today you need to see this show.”

A proportion of the artists are from Contemporary British Painting and others are from the London Group, as well other well known practitioners such as Graham Crowley who was Head of Painting at The Royal College of Art for many years and Andrew Stahl who is an artist and Professor of Fine Art and Head of Undergraduate Painting at the Slade School of Fine Art UCL.

The show also includes Susie Hamilton whose Covid paintings have been purchased by the Science Museum and displayed in a huge installation in Oxford Street as well as Contemporary British Painting prize winner Narbi Price whose paintings of cordoned off benches from the first Lockdown have became iconic images of these unprecedented
times.

The full line up of artists is: Andrew Stahl, Alexander Hinks, David Wiseman, Freya Purdue, Gordon Dalton, Graham Crowley, Harriet Tarlo, Joanna Whittle, Judith Tucker, Marco Cali, Marius von Brasch, Melissa Kime, Mona Osman, Narbi Price, Natalie Dowse, Paula MacArthur, Peter Monkman, Phil Illingworth, Robert Dunt, Ruth Philo, Sharon Beavan, Simon Ogden, Simon Streather, Susie Hamilton and Suzanne Holtom.
