Join us for a ‘salon’-style informal group discussion on the reassertion of the human figure in contemporary sculpture.

As sculpture’s oldest subject matter, we will look at and think about how today’s varied approaches to making three-dimensional approximations of the human form depart from pure representation.

This is an open-ended conversation about why the figure continues to be of relevance and to consider the wider response, connections and references these forms invite.

Guest participants:

Murray Anderson (artist, currently showing ‘Passage’, a site-specific installation at the Curious Projects project space & gallery: http://www.curious-projects.co.uk/project-space-and-gallery.html

Alexandra Valy (artist and founder of Curious Projects)

Places are limited so please register in advance here: http://curious-projects-figure-in-contemporary-sculpture.eventbrite.co.uk
