On Monday 29th July 2013 the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park partly opened as a public park and this part of the Lower Lea Valley landscape became accessible for the first time since the summer of 2007. For those unfamiliar with the changes, the Olympic Park walk is an opportunity to see how the Park is re-establishing itself, how it is being used and how it connects up to the places that have remained peripheral to it for the last six years. As well as the Park, the walk includes visiting the public parts of East Village, formerly the Athletes Village, and will contextualise the London 2012 Olympics within the regeneration plans of the wider Stratford City redevelopment. It is led by Anthony Palmer who has been photographing the Olympic Park landscape for six years and who was previously the Filming Manager for the Olympic Delivery Authority. This walk will be about ninety minutes long and will begin and end in Stratford. Please contact Anthony for more information: [email protected]
