Ivan Smith, ‘Abu Ghraib 1’.
From Smith’s solo exhibition, ‘The Good, the Bad & the Ugly’, at The Ashish Balram Nagpal Galleries for Contemporary Art, Mumbai, 2007. Smith was a co-founder and director of the artist led group Fine Rats International in the 1990s working on nocturnal exhibitions in decaying urban infrastructures of the Birmingham landscape. In 2001 Smith was invited to be the Henry Moore Fellow in Sculpture at Derby University and he remains resident in the East Midlands working on exhibitions internationally and accross the UK. Smith is represented by Ashish Balram Nagpal Galleries for Contemporary Arts, Mumbai and The Gooden Gallery, London.
