The arts funding body Creative Scotland has announced a new series of Open Sessions in Glasgow, Langholm and Inverness. The sessions are part of new Chief Executive Janet Archer’s efforts to gain feedback from the sector on the organisation’s new 10-year strategic plan, which is currently in development and due to be launched in March 2014, along with details of new funding programmes.

Archer and Creative Scotland Deputy Chief Executive, Iain Munro, will talk about the thinking behind the plan and discuss Creative Scotland’s proposed new approach to funding. There will also be an opportunity for those attending the sessions to discuss and debate the proposals.

The sessions are open to anyone working in the arts, screen and creative industries or who has an interest in the sector. As with the previous Open Sessions, all session content available online and the #csopen hash tag will be used for Twitter discussion.

Announcing the three events, a statement from Creative Scotland said: “These sessions are part of our ongoing commitment to create forums where those we are here to support can contribute to the future direction of Creative Scotland.”
