No Images of Women
Drawing on the 1970s writings of the pioneering artist Mary Kelly, this group exhibition aims to reappraise the representation of women in works of art. Four artists consider whether the image of the woman in art and the media can ever be adequately repositioned.

Kinokophonography
The Kinokophone artists’ collective are working with curator Cheryl Tipp on this sound cinema event at the British Library. Inspired by the wonder of listening to and sharing audio works, the group will be presenting a range of field recordings from around the world.

Case for Culture (C4C)
This Open Spaces event, facilitated by Stella Duffy, invites arts and heritage practitioners to put forward the case for culture in the North East of England. Participants will explore culture’s economic, health and social contribution and its role in place-making – as well as its ‘place’ within the region.

More room for error 
Artist Nicola Ellis has been exploring industry-standard rules within metalwork and welding, which she has then translated in a series of objects. In particular, her artworks explore the hidden structures within architectural space. Alongside her exhibition, Ellis will be in conversation with Mark Devereux on 30 May. Cardiff-based artists are also invited to book onto free one-to-one advisory sessions led by Devereux and Ellis on the same day.

The Hive Presents: Freedom
The Hive – a new arts and social hub from ReSpace Projects – launches with an evolving exhibition on freedom that will grow from contributions of poems, paintings and artworks brought in by members of the public. A programme of talks and performances takes place over the course of the exhibition.
