Stiwdio / Lle
This artist-led exhibition considers contemporary painting within the context of the studio, considering it ‘as both concept and location’. The exhibition explores how rather than being a retreat, working in the studio connects artists to other places, or Lle – the Welsh word for place.
Until 20 October 2017, BayArt, 54b/c Bute St, Cardiff CF10 5AF.

The Flickering Darkness
A new three channel video installation from London-based artist Juan delGado takes us on a fragmented journey through Bogotá’s neighbourhoods. delGado is interested in the brisk social change and trauma that characterise the ‘no-go’ areas of the city. The Flickering Darkness is a portrayal of a city approached from the perspective of a foreigner.
Until 28 October 2017, Abject Gallery, Bamburgh House, Market Street East, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 6BH.

The Kiss or Poison Boyfriend or Jesus’ Blood
This unusually titled exhibition, curated by Dan Howard-Birt, celebrates the anarchic qualities and potential of printmaking and the messy, transgressive impact that touch can have on a work of art. Running alongside this show, in a series of wall-mounted cases, is the exhibition ‘After the Party’.
Until 28 October 2017, Intercession Gallery, 54 Kingswell Street, Northampton NN1 1PR.

Testcard P
Artist-led Contemporary British Painting bring together 41 painters presenting works – not necessarily completed – that signal new experiments or directions that they have taken within their practice within the past year. Testcard P is a dialogue around the multitude of approaches and historical influences that is contemporary painting today.
Until 12 January 2017, The Crypt, St Marylebone Parish Church, Marylebone Road, London NW1 5LT.
