The shortlist for the 2013 Griffin Art Prize, for emerging artists working in painting and drawing, has been announced.

Chosen from a longlist of 20, the selected artists are: Eleanor Bedlow; Susannah Douglas; Helen Frank; Luke George & Elizabeth Rose; Rae Hicks; Emily Moore; Scott Robertson; Yuhwa Son; Mary Wintour; and Nicole Wong.

An exhibition of the shortlisted artists’ work will open in November at the Griffin Gallery, London, and will tour to High House gallery, Oxon in January 2014 and White Moose, Devon, in February 2014. The exhibiting artists were chosen by this year’s prize judges: Zavier Ellis, Andrew Grassie, Jessica Lack and Jenny Lindén Urnes.

This year’s winner will be announced at Griffin Gallery on 6 November at 6pm. They will receive a six-month residency with studio space, materials and a small financial allowance, in order to develop new work for a one-person show in the Griffin Gallery.
