Celebrating creativity in craft, ‘Making it’, a three day event comprising exhibitions, installations, workshops, debates and a World café party kicks off tomorrow morning with the ‘Making it professional’ programme.

Facilitated by textile artist Alice Kettle with presentations from Deirdre Figueiredo MBE, Director Craftspace and Rachel Lichtenstein, historian and writer, the day will then break out into three sessions broaching topics such as craft portfolio and mentoring, writing about craft and building audiences via social media and networking.

With contributions from Susan Jones, director at a-n, The Artists Information Company, Timandra Gustafson, arts and heritage specialist; Hen Norton, co-founder Wedidthis.org; Professor Simon Olding, Craft Study Centre, participants will have the opportunity to mine knowledge on everything from supporting your practice through residencies and public art commissions to public speaking.

£50 (£40 for Winchester/Hampshire makers). Day ticket includes entrance to two sessions and lunch. To book your space please click here or call Winchester Discover Centre Box on 01962 873603.
