Ed Atkins, Serpentine Sackler Gallery, London
Marina Abramovic’s 512 Hours at the Serpentine might be hogging all the publicity but this exhibition at the gallery’s sister venue deserves the real focus. Renowned video artist Ed Atkins has transformed the Sackler Gallery into a submersive environment of syncopated sounds, bodies and spaces. His largest solo exhibition in a UK public institution to date, it is well worth checking out.

Nasreen Mohamedi, Tate Liverpool
Another exhibition threatening to steal the limelight from a close neighbor is taking place at Tate Liverpool. Although the blockbuster Mondrian show has been receiving rave reviews, Nasreen Mohamedi’s sensitive, painstakingly constructed drawings and photographs are infinitely more seductive.

Inside the venue are three further works including an installation of nine rows of five chairs. An extension of Weiwei’s major project for Documenta 12 in Kassel in 2007, the work explores concepts of the collective and the individual.
