Founded in 2006 by artist/curators Pippa Hale, Kerry Harker and Diane Howse, PSL enables the production and dissemination of visual art through the programming of its project space and through mentoring, residencies, commissioning, publishing and off-site events. Recent projects include international group show Pieces of Eight, with work by UK and Finnish PhD Fine Art students; and Glamourie, a group exhibition with artists including Chris Evans, Pil & Galia Kollectiv and Rory Macbeth.

PSL recently ceased activities at its Whitehall Waterfront space in preparation for its move to the former brewery – a stunning Art Deco building constructed in 1931. The team describe their new home as “a cultural hub for the city with galleries, dedicated learning spaces, a cafe/bar, outdoor green space and a playground.”

On Friday 7 September and Saturday 8 September PSL is opening two floors of the Tetley Building as part of Leeds’ Heritage Open Days 2012. PSL staff will be on hand to answer questions and fill you in on their future plans. The event is free and there is no need to book; more information is available via the Heritage Open Days website.
