Sync, the digital innovation think tank designed to support arts organisations in Scotland develop a more progressive relationship with technology and technologists, has published the second edition of its SyncTank magazine.

The 56-page publication brings together a wide range of features, interviews and comment from the welcometosync.com site. It aims to stimulate discussion and encourage the innovative use of digital technologies in the arts in Scotland. The Sync programme is supported by Creative Scotland.

Edited by a-n’s news editor Chris Sharratt, the magazine includes contributions from Honor Harger, Artistic Director, Lighthouse; an interview with Simon Kirby of artist collective FOUND, best known for the groundbreaking Cybraphon; a profile of artist, musician and creative technologist Yann Seznec; and information on Sync’s Geeks-in-Residence programme, which partners developers/designers with arts organisations and this year includes a project with the Edinburgh Art Festival.

Also included in the magazine are edited versions of two pieces co-commissioned with a-n – Catherine Roche on Watershed’s Craft + Technology residencies and Rob Allen on the Crafts Council’s Weave Waves commission.

Designed by Glasgow’s studio Rydo, SyncTank 2 is available in print as a free limited edition A5 magazine or can be downloaded as a pdf from the Sync website.
