Clive A Brandon is an artist based in the highlands of Scotland, who makes paintings, collages, photographs, books, films and interventions that respond to landscape and place. The experience of walking closely informs his practice, which refers to the relics of architecture and man made structures within the landscape. His work is framed by Situationist theory, Psycho-Geography, Constructivism and the British Landscape tradition. He draws inspiration from artists as diverse as Kurt Schwitters, Paul Nash and Gordon Matta-Clark, distilling his visual observations into subtle, small-scale works combining watercolour painting, photos and collaged elements of found material.
