Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Juan Bolivar is a British artist and curator. His painting practice explores geometric abstraction, and intertextuality. His work is included in important collections such as The Government Art Collection, and selected for significant exhibitions such as New British Painting, John Hansard Gallery, University of Southampton (2003), East international, Norwich School of Art (2007), and more recently included in Nanjing Museum's first international exhibition of contemporary art (2015) where he was a prize winner. In January 2015 he was invited to be part of Turps Gallery's curatorial board - and a Co-Editor of Turps Banana; a biannual magazine with a painting-centric dialogue. He is currently an Associate Lecturer at Camberwell College of Arts and Wimbledon College of Art, and a Visiting Lecturer at several other colleges including Royal Academy Schools and Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. http://juanbolivar.com http://www.trailerart.net
