Mel Langton is a Lincoln based designer and illustrator whose work encompasses both digitally created pieces and traditional painting techniques. Having moved from Leicester to study Graphic Design and Illustration at De Montford University in Lincoln, Mel graduated in 2001 with BA (Hons) Illustration, in which she chose to specialise. Mel produces a range of colourful, bold and edgy artwork and has a particular passion for depicting strong and feisty female characters, which relates back to her days on the track playing roller derby. Music, lifestyle and alternative culture also play a huge part as influences within Mel’s work. Recent commissions include artwork for British Blues Award winning band King King, being chosen to design one of the Barons for the very popular Lincoln Barons’ Charter Trail in 2015 and this year being commissioned to paint three Knights for the Lincoln Knights’ Trail. Mel has also been working with local schools in helping to create Barons and now a half size Knight for this year’s trail. Mel also regularly exhibits her artwork in both solo shows and collective exhibitions. Lincoln
