The recent flurry of arts consultations across the UK has raised the question of artists' representation on decision-making fora. Here we report on developments surrounding AIR and the proposed Creative Scotland merger, and the willingness (or otherwise) of others to listen to artists' opinions.
Guyan Porter is an artist and writer based in Glasgow. His practice incorporates sculpture, installation, political dialogue and multi media events combining performance, music and visual art. Working in a variety of mediums from photographic portraits, text, neon and food, as well as more traditional materials, his work explores order, belief, information and conflicts between internal and external authorities.
