Join the award winning, touring UNRAVEL workshop and help make a hand painted film that is as long as the journey between John O’Groats and Land’s End (874 miles!) and will take 16 hours to view. The 16mm film animation workshop is led by Chris Paul Daniels and Maria Anastassiou, and runs 10am – 2pm. Chris and Maria’s talk and screening are 3pm – 4pm. Both events are FREE and open to all. You can paint, draw, scratch and work directly onto the 16mm celluloid film… and see the amazing animations projected. The talk and screening in the Jill Craigie Cinema starting at 3pm includes the premiere of LIGHTHOUSE, the 16mm animation inspired by Smeaton’s Tower lighthouse on Plymouth Hoe, created by students from Sir John Hunt Community Sports College, Plymouth, working with Media Arts students. You can come along on the day, or reserve your place with Peninsula Arts: Telephone: 01752 58 50 50 Email: [email protected] UNRAVEL in Plymouth and the film Lighthouse are made possible by generous support from Faculty of Arts Widening Participation, Media Arts and Contemporary Film Practice, and Peninsula Arts, with Plymouth University; and Plymouth Arts Centre.
