I was borne in1966 I have faced the question of the meaning of form as most abstract painters from this period.   I have not been influences so much by Stella or Newman these abstract painters seek to neutralize the picture plane. I seek to do the exact opposite; I reintroduce imperfections, roughness and the texture of brush marks which amplify the painting’s materiality and our perceptual sensations. The spiral forms are off-center or cut short by broken edges and imperfection, the forms seem spatially temporally and unstable. This is intended to open up an imaginative space for the viewer. I intent the painting to be a sensorial experience being played out in the “here-and now”.
