WHY AM I KEEPING TWO BLOGS?

LATEST UPDATE:

ECCO ARE IN OPERATION, I FORGOT THAT I SIGNED UP FOR A WHILE.....  I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR MY SHORT TERM COINCIDENCES AND THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ARRANGING THE LONG TERM ONES.

ECCO runs our lives, though we won't admit it. If you're an ECCO agent, you can be very, very careful to use your best intelligence in ECCO's service, and you realize there are no discoveries, there are only revelations. That was a come-down for me as a scientist."

Assessment time over the next week and doing the finishing touches to the show. That means the re-jigging suggestions made by the tutors! I have to change the layout, make it look sharper! I have taken a few on board and can compromise in certain areas.

I was dumfounded when looking around the studios earlier today, the show looks bloomin' marvellous!! All of us have worked hard and the help and support of fellow students has been greatly appreciated.

"In the province of the mind, what one believes to be true is true or becomes true, within certain limits to be found experientially and experimentally. These limits are further beliefs to be transcended. In the mind there are no limits."

# 4 [20 April 2011]

Good lord....... having only just returned from a lost weekend at the most fabulous party near Llanberis;  I am now armed and buzzing with new inspiration thanks to fellow artist Kev Fox, (do yourself a large favour, get a beer or a large rum and coke and check out this dudes' raw sound, vocally I am in awe after being treated to a soul bashing session yesterday in quite mountain woodland location... myspace.comkevfox)

The weirdest senarios do occur in the mountains of North Wales..... Without my knowledge this particular 'cheeky fox' had used a peice of my artwork on the front cover of a compliation album he put together last winter of various artists music entitled Winter chill; and I suppose he was meaning to tell me if he ever saw me again, right?!! I asked him, as I stratched my chin.. "Do I get any money out of this?" He replied "errrrr technically but....." so instead we came to another arrangement, skill swapping! We did also discuss how I would go about suing his damn ass!!!  But the truth of the matter is that I did infact give him a piece my artwork one drunken summer night in Caernarfon!!!  So there you go, now I have another chance at improving my skills... She smiles sweetly..... haw haw haw in the quest for special skills I will never tire!

Do you remember this space.....? One of non-movement; stillness..... the strength in retreat? The heart is strong and it burns with passion and rage. Never again to encounter the passing now. There, writes me.... Is there a poet near? Beloved heart thank Mister God.

I am not one for technicality, in fact I would describe myself as a novice, although I do like to dabble... Downloading apps is a clever way of making my photography speak another language. Retro-Cam is free and having recently moved I am keeping my non-working signal phone on as I have no other functioning camera at present, unless I count the SVP media box which gives a warm 1950's look to the pictures. (I could get out of my 3 mobile contract but I am far too attached to my app's now - how sad!) but the signal comes back in town and I still photograph anywhere i get the urge to. There are too many things to think about and do in the build up to the finals!! I post some recent photographs of work from The negotiated 1 research project while I think about what an earth I am going to do for the end of year show.....!

A few months to go before final year show & graduation. The basis of studio practice has been a steady progression by looking at the subject of Identity.

In terms of seeking the truth of my own identity, when I try to forge new connections to existing groups, I can lose part of my own identity and a sense of isolation prevails. Working through this with text, photography and video, I am documenting and producing a visual reference alongside this body of work.
