Have You Seen Me / “One Hundred Percent Personal Honesty” is a joint exhibition by two North East based Artists: Mary Lou Springstead and … popgrafik. As a native of Florida transplanted into Middlesbrough, through the medium of acrylic on canvas, Mary Lou Springstead brings forth her own outsider view to the land / sea / townscapes of Teesside, infusing the terraced housing, and inhabitants, of central Middlesbrough with a mythic symbolism to present an idealised urban setting. … popgrafik meanwhile, consolidating and applying the mediums of printmaking, stencil and poster arts, concentrates upon the concept of the personal and its relationship to the societal, exploring, at times, the abstraction of cheap novelties and suchlike and to the emotional attachment and sense of affection such objects of otherwise little value can command.
