In response to Claire White's letter in the November issue, I want to agree with her analysis of artists and how many find themselves as part of community projects and development.

Artist Tutor for over 25 years including for the Public & Voluntary sectors, [Adult & Family Learning] as well as freelance. Other roles, alongside making art, included; Area Development Co-ordinator & Manager of Volunteers. Started in London Theatre box office, lifelong love of Theatre. Also a singer. Recently retrained as Environment & Sustainability Consultant. Always interested in nature & the environment, including therapeutic effects of both art & nature plus overcoming adversities. Applies recycling & sustainable practice to artworks. Available to give art talks & workshops. Exhibiting artist open to commissions. Favourite mediums are; charcoals, pastels, oils, collage/mixed media, print making, fabric art, decoupage & digital art installations. Won"most innovative artist" award, Dorset 2014. First love drawing. When young was known (in Wales) for Banner-making [no longer do, but works are in various collections]. Activist. Various commissions. Official banner artist for Valleys Live arts festival Wales 1990's. Part of national banner tour 1980's. Masters thesis on banners in National Library of Wales. Have exhibited & sold portraits & mixed media artworks in UK, Germany & USA [including 1990's exhibition at Ann Arbor art gallery, Michigan]. Works accepted at RWA Bristol in past. MA (Art History), BA(Hons) majored Fine Art, C&G Tutoring skills & PTLLs (level 4), AIEMA. Member of Sustainable Dorset.
