Jose Westerman
Jose Westerman is a Portuguese artist living and working in London who explores the intersection of figuration, abstraction and indexicality of subjecthood in the context of the Anthropocene. In 2012, after graduating from Goldsmiths, he created jojoreadymades, a studio, archive and forum. Westerman’s creative process often begins with digital photomontage, and closes with a painting. This is because he is drawn to painting’s mystical sensuousness, its materials and processes, as well as its limitations and potentialities as a medium. Social: @jojoreadymades
