A solo exhibition of paintings, prints, collages and works on paper by Scarborough artist Janine Baldwin is currently on display at the Scarborough General Hospital Gallery. The landscape has played an important part in Janine’s life from early childhood, and after studying fine art it became central to her artwork. From dark, moody forests in charcoal to bright, semi-abstract seascapes in oil on canvas, Janine seeks to capture the uplifting experience of being in the natural environment. Janine graduated from the University of Hull’s Scarborough Campus in 2001 and has exhibited extensively across the UK, and also in Germany and Canada. Her work has previously been selected for prestigious exhibitions with the Royal Academy of Arts, Society of Women Artists and the Pastel Society at the Mall Galleries in London. Janine has work in private collections across the world, including that of Scarborough’s very own Sir Alan Ayckbourn.
