ANANTA – Digital Art by Sumit Sarkar22 April – 20 JuneAnanta is a touring exhibition from Lanternhouse International that showcases the work of digital artist, Sumit Sarkar. Using state of the art digital technology, this dazzling exhibition brings together the artist’s deep personal knowledge of the Hindu pantheon, reinterpreting it for the modern age. Sarkar explores Hindu iconography through complex 3D images that are then converted to sculpture using high-end manufacturing techniques. His inspiration comes from sources as diverse as ancient Hindu imagery, Manga cartoons and transforming robots. The exhibition is accompanied by a series of texts by writer Harriet Sharkey and will include a newly commissioned digital 3D animation.
