Art on a Postcard (AOAP) is delighted to announce its second guest postcard auction in collaboration with War Child. Bidding starts at just £50 and the proceeds will directly support War Child’s work with children living through conflict worldwide.

War Child is driven by a single goal – ensuring a safe future for every child affected by war. Using 30 years of experience and proven methodologies, War Child and its partners create safe spaces for children to play, learn, and access psychological support. War Child specialise in responding rapidly to emergency crisis situations as-they-happen, to deliver immediate and critical aid impartially to keep children safe and help them through their trauma.

This year’s impressive line-up boasts a diverse array of international contemporary artists and emerging talents. Highlights include the widely anticipated original Polaroids captured by British artist Dave Gamble of Andy Warhol’s possessions, Sussex-born Tahnee Lonsdale, presenting four oil paintings depicting the ethereal characters from her larger works. Also contributing is Art on a Postcard favourite Sarah Ball, fresh from her triumphant debut solo exhibition in New York at the Stephen Friedman Gallery. Malaysian British artist Mandy El-Sayegh, represented by Thaddeus Ropac Gallery, offers three perfect postcard-sized artworks, each imbued with her trademark blend of mixed media, conveying socio-political messages. Joining Art on a Postcard for the first time is British-born Alex Foxton, currently based in Paris and represented by Galerie Derouillon.

Additionally, AOAP is elated to welcome Dr Fiona Curran, a Slade Art School alumna whose practice is imbued with vibrant colour, intricate collage, and mesmerising patterns. The inclusion of LA-based Sarah Miska’s intricately detailed paintings promises to captivate audiences, while Camilla Mihkelsoo, originally from Finland but now based in Italy, brings her expertise in figuration and portraiture.

AOAP is also honoured to welcome back Mahesh Baliga from the Indian state of Karnataka, whose paintings seamlessly blend reality with the fantastical, drawing from his rich inner world and the complexities of life in Western India. Also returning is the extraordinary New York-based artist Miya Ando, whose multidisciplinary work embodies a profound sense of impermanence.

As with all AOAP auctions, there is an array of exciting new talent participating, including Slade graduate Yuma Radné and New Contemporary’s Luke Rooney, Elena Onwochei-Garcia, and Alexandra Beteeva.

There will be an opportunity for bidders to see these unique original works in person at The Fitzrovia Gallery on Tuesday 30 April, 10am – 6pm before the auction closes on 7 May.
