DARTMOOR ARTS PROJECT PRESENTS A TALK BY SCULPTOR BILL WOODROW 29 JULY 8PM. Woodrow emerged in the late 1970’s and is well known for his works made from materials found in dumps, used car lots and scrap yards and large consumer goods such as refrigerators. Bill Woodrow studied at Winchester School of Arts, St. Martin’s School of Art, and Chelsea School of Art. His first solo exhibition was at the Whitechapel Art Gallery in 1972 and since then he has shown his work all over the world. In the early 1980s he represented Britain at Biennales in Sydney, Paris and Sao Paulo and in 1986 he was a finalist in the Turner Prize at the Tate Gallery, London. Further solo exhibitions of his work were held at the Camden Arts Centre (1995), the Tate Gallery (1996) and the South London Gallery (2001).
