Come and join Jenney Kelly for a hands-on workshop to learn the beautiful art of Indian Block Printing. This event will take place at The Heritage Skills Centre at the charming Bluebell Railwayin Horsted Keynes.

You’ll have the opportunity to create your own unique designs using traditional Indian wooden blocks and vibrant colors. You will be gently guided throughout the workshop, starting with a demonstration, you will have plenty of time to practice, first on paper and calico, before moving onto printing a linen table runner, 8 x notecards and a little pouch to store them in.

During your lunch break, you will escorted upto the station at Horsted Keynes, where you will have platform access and be able to watch some of the very finest steam locomotives running from Sheffield Park to East Grinstead. Weather permitting, we will be able to sit outside and have lunch.

In the afternoon we will continue printing and at a convenient break you will have the opportunity to have a tour around the Trimming Workshop, where volunteers restore the carriage seats using traditional materials such as horse hair, springs and moquette.

Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, this workshop is perfect for anyone looking to explore their creativity and learn a new skill in a truly unique setting!
