The feature artist for the Christmas Show is Malcolm Ludvigsen. He is an oil-painter with a particular interest in plein-air painting. He can often be seen painting outdoors on Scarborough’s Esplanade, or directly on the beach of the North and South bays. When he is not painting, he is a professor of mathematics with an international reputation for work in relativity, black holes, and cosmology. He is author of a well-known book on general relativity. The show will offer an eclectic mix of paintings, printmaking, ceramics, glass, steel sculpture, knitted jewellery and felt handcrafted items.
