Alpesh Patel and Andrea Tierney Listening to his favourite music gave Alpesh Patel (Wood Reliefs) the idea to represent the body as a combination of the human form and the shape of instruments like the guitar, the violin or the horn. The relief carvings on show have been created in the last few years in the U.K. He starts by drawing the form on paper, then transfers to the wood and carve the lines with his carving tools. Finally he uses paint to bring out the lines of the carving. Andrea Tierney (Pigment on Wood) started to use wood from her local timber yard to paint on. These paintings are very different from her usual work. She just concentrates on colour and composes the paintings like a musician doing scales. The colours are arranged in a certain chromatic succession and form compositions in their own right. Open until 18 September during office hours. Inauguration : Vibhaker Baxi, Chairman and Managing Director of Navras Records.
