As far as art goes, the most frequently depicted scene in the history of art is the crucifixion, so art has some form when it comes to death. This exhibition at neo:gallery27 will give 19 contemporary artists the opportunity to tackle the subject of death, humour, and frequently, both.
There will be pictures and artefacts for the public to view and muse over, as well as a range of responses to the theme in several media by the artists themselves, from painting and sculpture, to video and photographs. The spark created between the words “Dead Funny” will prove a visual treat for those who visit neo:gallery27 during this exhibition.
