An exhibition of large-scale photographs and video work by Brighton-based Turkish artist, Derya Erdem. Erdem is a visual artist who works across a range of media. In her recent work she uses a camera as a method of abstraction and improvisation. Her current work is designed to be illusionary, subtly changing when viewed close up and from a distance. At first glance, deceptively, they appear to be minimalist paintings, although upon closer inspection little details belie the photographic origins. These large prints are strong compositions of colour and texture.
