Family Matters Part 1: Thoughts and Memories Gallery 89 proudly presents the exciting exhibition of the three family members of the Reichert Family showing together for the first time. In order to experience any kind of truth about myself, I have to go through the other. Jean-Paul Sartre As Sartre describes in his existentialist theory, we can only understand ourselves through the reflection of others. As the three members of the Reichert family show together for the first time, this quote acquires a new meaning. Within a family we perceive ourselves differently, which creates a new kind of critical exchange, influencing the work produced. Thoughts and memories are the key feature to this perception within a family. These subjects are dealt with in the art works on display and the curation of the work within the space.
