Saturday 5th June 11am-6pm Union Street, Stroud12th-17th June 11am-3pm Bar Nine 9 You see is what you hear…Any sound can be described as a waveform, or a line drawn in space. Sine waves, square waves, the grooves on a vinyl record; these lines fully describe a sound. Freq2 takes the outline of your silhouette, turns it into a waveform, and then uses this to generate sound and a 3D landscape in real time. Every movement has an immediate effect on both the sound and the visuals. The sounds are placed into a repetitive musical structure, giving the piece a form of memory: both the sound and the visuals retain elements of what has gone before. Freq2 was commissioned for Cybersonica 06.Squidsoup is a digital arts group specialising in interactive installations within physical space. Their work combines sound, light, physical space and virtual worlds to produce immersive and emotive headspaces.
