I work with Porcelain and Earthenware clay and Handbuilding Versions of these. I press a variety of textures into my work and then paint underglazes in (I use a variety of bright and gentle/subtle colours.) then wipe back the surface to reveal the coloured pattern/design followed by a clear lead Earthenware glaze for all my work thats not being used for food & I use a foodsafe glaze for all my food bowls.
My inspiration is based on organic forms/natural forms – I work from plants, organic/natural form textures, flowers, Seed pods/Sea plants.
With my ceramic sculptures I mix in my textiles to create an exciting fusion between the two.
With my textile work I produce Scarves, Christmas decorations, and Felt Coasters using really bright colours/subtle colours.
